Over coffee, I would share that we had a great vacation in Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island last month. Truly beautiful places and just THE nicest people! And, added bonus was finally getting to meet Anna (aka Pipersrun on IG) – we’ve known each other for years online so it was great fun to finally meet in person.
Over coffee, I would share that I finally got to see The Odyssey and loved it. We almost never go to a movie theatre any more (just wait to stream) but we felt like this was one needed to be seen on a big screen.
Over coffee, I would ask you for advice on how to break up with my manicurist – Don’t laugh! I’ve been going to the same manicurist for quite a while, but recently I tried out a new nail bar in my area for a pedicure and love everything about the place and the quality of service. So now I’m thinking about switching but am feeling guilty about ghosting my current spot.
Over coffee, I would tell you that my TBR list is getting way out of hand – so many books to read and so little time. I’m currently reading Kin by Tayari Jones, which I’m sure I’ll finish before the weekend is over, because I can’t put it down…then the debate will be what to read next.
What would you share over coffee? Any advice on the manicurist?

Can you just not make another appointment because you “have to look at your schedule”? The new nail bar sounds cool. Glad you had such a fun vacation and met Anna! Yay!

I already have an appointment booked for this week that I’ll keep but then I’ll plan to hold off on re-booking.
Kin has been on my list for some time – but the wait is LONG! Glad to hear that it’s worth it. The new nail place sounds good – I think you should just not make an appointment with your current manicurist and do what’s best for YOU! I understand feeling guilty but you need to live your life for you (I say this, but I know it’s not as easy as it sounds). I like Marcia’s suggestion of talking about checking your schedule or maybe you say you have some things coming up with work or travel and you need to re-book at another time.
You are so right about doing what’s best for me…the guilt struggle is real! LOL!
How fun to meet an online friend in real life! That’s always such a pleasure and I’ve found that almost always conversation just flows like we’ve known each other forever!
I agree with the Marcia and Melissa, just don’t make another appointment (although if you’re like me and have a standing appointment for every other week then that could be awkward). Like Melissa says, you have to do what works best for you. Good luck!
I have found the same thing when meeting online friends – the conversation does just flow. Always such a fun experience 🙂

I’ve never been to Prince Edward Island and it looks gorgeous glad you had a nice trip. Lol on breaking up w your manicurist I had to do that once and it is very awkward! My mom still goes to our old place talk about awkward! Gotta do what’s best for you!

PEI and Nova Scotia are both beautiful – If you get the chance to visit, you should go.
As far as the manicurist, I would literally just … stop. As long as you don’t think you’d run into her anywhere. I’m a chicken lol.
I read Kin a few months ago. It was amazing.

I agree with the others about the nail bar, just stop going to the current manicurist. Go where you think you get the best service and that’s it. But I understand it’s awkward!

Well, let’s see. I think it depends on how close you are to your manicurist. Like if you go every two weeks and talk at length about your lives, and every time you leave you say ‘See you next time!” THEN I would probably say something… I’m not sure what. Just something to let her know you’re taking a break for a while. If you’re not that close, then I think it’s fine to just stop showing up.
i’ve never been to Nova Scotia but it looks SO BEAUTIFUL! And, I haven’t read Kin but I’ve heard great things about it. I recommend Yesteryear if you haven’t read it already!
I keep hearing about Yesteryear but haven’t added it to my TBR list – my problem is I keep adding titles far faster than I’m reading books 🙂
And on the manicurist issue you’ve hit on part of the problem – I have known her for a long time…but I do feel like the service could be better at the new place. Sigh…I need to just make a change and not chicken out.
