Hello May! Can you believe we’re at the start of a new month already?!
And, since it’s the first Friday of the month, for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m joining Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date. Grab a mug and let’s chat!
Coffee Chat – May ’26 Edition
Over coffee, I’d tell that for the first time in forever the month ahead doesn’t feel like the typical “May-hem.” Is it a sign of the times of my kids being older? No work commitments (yes I’m still enjoying semi-retirement)? While I do have some things planned, I am pleased to see more white space on my calendar than usual for May.
Over coffee, I’d tell you one commitment I’m really looking forward to later this month is volunteering with Girls on the Run! I love that their programs focus on building girls’ self-esteem through movement. I’m going to be a course marshall for their end-of-season 5K celebration – should be a lot of fun!
Over coffee, I’d tell you that this blog turned 16 earlier this week! Kinda blows my mind – and a big thanks to all you have shared in this journey over the years.
So tell me, what have you got planned for this month?

Happy Blogaversary! It’s amazing how long our little group has been blogging. I love the friendships that have developed over the years. I didn’t realize you were semi-retired–I have been as well and am actually considering full-on retirement next year. As much as I love my job, it’s starting to feel like it’s time to scale back! Enjoy that Girls on the Run gig!
I so love our little corner of the blogosphere 🙂 I think I missed that you are semi-retired as well – I keep saying I’m not ready to be fully retired, but I have to admit I’m not missing the work schedule one bit!
Congrats on 16 years! I’ll bet blogging looks a lot different now than it did then.
I’m also not experiencing May-hem, and I think it is something about the kids being older. All my daughter’s concerts and events are over, and we’re just coasting to the end of the school year. And if anything, my work starts to slow down now. I almost feel guilty when people are complaining about being overwhelmed this month!
Taking all of the school madness out of the mix certainly helps I think. I’m not complaining, I’ll take the somewhat slower pace! Enjoy your May!
I am right there with you with a less busy May this year. How’d that happen? I won’t complain! Happy blogaversary! Our little community is amazing. Yay for GOTR! Love that organization!
Yay for a less busy May!
Our community has been the special bonus I would never have expected when I started blogging – so happy for it!
16 years! I guess mine is 14 – crazy how time flies!
I’m glad you have more calm – things were pretty crazy for you there for a while. Are you thinking of taking up any new hobbies or rekindling old interests?
It was pretty unhinged there for a bit LOL. I’ve taken advantage of the time to do more cooking and gardening. I want to get back into photography and learn a new language!
Gosh, the Mayhem stuff never occurred to me, LOL. I do have plenty on the calendar (three racing events), plus other activities. I think I’m so focused on summer arriving (or, at least, summer weather), that the day-to-day busyness has slipped my mind. Have fun with the GOTR!
Sounds like you have a fun May planned! Enjoy and good luck with your races!
Happy 16th blogging anniversary! My blog was 13 years old in January.
I volunteered one year as a companion runner with my friend’s daughter for her Girls on the Run race. It was fun!
Enjoy your less hectic May!
Oh that’s great that you were a companion runner! I’m really looking forward to the GOTR 5K celebration.
I have a pretty quiet May too, but then June will be jammed with 3 work trips.
I think my blog is about the same age. I’ll have to check but I’m sure I’ll cringe at those early posts!
I’m glad you’ll get some quiet time before the next round of work trips. I hope you’ll be heading somewhere fun!
Ahh, happy blogiversary! I think I technically started mine in…2012(?) so they’re close in age! :] Time flies though! It doesn’t feel like it’s been that long!
Thanks – it really is hard to believe it’s been that long!
