As we wind down another month, Marcia has once again opened the runfessional so for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’ve got a couple of runfessions to share.

In what has become typical New England weather in recent memory, we barely got a taste of Spring before jumping full force into Summer temps. This month has been especially diabolical (hello 100 degrees mid month) and I runfess that I have been slow to adjust my clock to get out the door earlier — time to stop lingering over my morning coffee!

I’ve been on another purging kick in my closet (why does this feel never-ending?!) and the other day I took aim at my fitness gear. While I’m  trying to pare down the one area that needs some new additions is my sports bras. My current collection is looking…how shall I say it…way tired. I runfess that I can’t tell you the last time that I purchased one. I think I have a little shopping to do.

Time for a Couple of April Runfessions

And, here we are at the end of another month already! Marcia has opened the runfessional so for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’ve got a couple of runfessions to share. Let’s dive in.

I runfess that I’m wondering who handed out my email address because I’m being inundated with product review and affiliate offers. I find it especially curious since I’ve dialed back my blogging and social posts since the start of the year. Go figure…

I runfess…or is it vacationfess (?) that I’m feeling stressed about trying to finalize our summer vacation plans. We’ve been talking about spending some time in Europe in August but potential fuel shortages and some airlines already talking about cutting flights is giving us pause. Yes, I know we can buy travel insurance, but I will admit that the thought of the possible logisitics hassles is giving me pause.

Treadmill Runfessions

How is March coming to a close already?!

It’s time for another edition of Fit Five Friday, and, since it’s the last Friday of the month, I’m linking up, as always, with Marcia to share some Runfessions before we roll into a new month.

Treadmill Runfessions

Last month, you may remember that I was whining…er runfessing about the winter weather and not wanting to run on the treadmill. Well my husband is now teasing me that our mill must have heard me since it has decided to stop working. The weather here is still very much all over the place – it snowed earlier this week for heaven’s sake – and having access to a treadmill would be beneficial. So…I runfess that I’m actually missing my mill…just a little bit.

Hopefully Ma Nature will start to cooperate soon and deliver some Spring weather. In the meantime, I probably should carve out some time to sit on the phone with customer service to see if there’s a solution to get the mill moving again.

I also runfess that I wouldn’t mind taking a closer look at some of the new mills on the market, especially the NordiTrack 1750 😉

Winter Weather Runfessions

We blinked and the month of February is just about done! It’s time for another edition of Fit Five Friday, and, since it’s the last Friday of the month, I’m linking up with Marcia to share some Runfessions.

Winter Weather Runfessions

I runfess that I have been hibernating. While I’m usually a bundle up and go kind of runner, this winter I have to admit that I just don’t want to. It has been exceptionally frigid and my motivation to wear all the layers and dodge the ice has reached an all-time low.

I also runfess that my running has taken a hit in the past few weeks. While I’m grateful to own a treadmill, I’ve never made it a secret how much I dislike running on one. We have another storm in the forecast for this weekend, so I think I’ll be embracing time on my bike and strength training for the forseable future.

There, winter whining done, LOL – Anyone else counting down the days to Spring?

A Couple of January Runfessions

It’s the last Friday of the month, which means for this week’s Fit Five Friday I’m joining Marcia to share a couple of runfessions before we head into a new month.

I runfess that the month of January always feels like THE longest month for me, and this start to 2026 has not changed that trend one bit. Perhaps it’s the post-holiday blues, my kiddo returning to campus, all of the political strife, being saddled for almost 2 weeks with a cold, the extreme temps…or all of the above, but my “new year” energy has taken a hit.

A couple of weeks ago I shared a post on ways to take care of yourself during these winter months and I runfess that I’ve not been doing a good job following my own advice, especially with my hydration! I recently downloaded an app to track my intake – curious to see if it helps.

Does anyone else feel like this has been the longest month? What would you runfess?

Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Well, it wouldn’t be Black Friday if I didn’t runfess that I’m over the hype! Yes I think I say this every year, but every year I feel like the Black Friday sales hype is getting worse. You can’t claim to be offering “the best deals” when the promotion runs the whole month, can you?

Thanks to being away from running for a while, I runfess that I am out of practice on how to dress for the ever-changing New England weather. Just this week temps have swung from frosty to 60 degrees and my layering game is woefully lacking as I’ve found myself either over- or under-dressed.

Not So Spooky Runfessions

And, here we are at the end of another month already! Marcia has opened the runfessional and for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’ve got a couple of runfessions to share, so let’s get started, shall we?

Not So Spooky Runfessions

It’s Halloween and I runfess that I’m feeling pretty meh about the holiday. Aside from a couple of pumpkins added to the mums on my front porch, I’ve done no decorating, and I runfess that I just got around to buying candy yesterday. I know I’ll enjoy seeing the little ones in their constumes tonight, but once the teens start showing up I’ll be ready to turn the porch light off – Am I turning into a Halloween Scrooge?

Recently, Peloton announced that they are once again, raising their rates. I saw many take to social to complain, and while I’m not thrilled to be paying more, I runfess that I’m not ready to give up my bike, especially with the winter months coming! Also, my husband has started taking some of the cycling classes, so I figure it’s not a bad deal for the two of us.

Lastly, while I was super excited to take my first run in more than a year and a half last Saturday, I runfess that I was also hella nervous! What if my leg wasn’t ready and there was pain? Thankfully I had nothing to worry about. I runfess that I couldn’t stop smiling during my run-walk intervals. I look forward to starting a Couch-to-5K plan next week!

There…now I can go into November with a clean slate.

September ’25 Runfessions

Well, September blew in and out quickly didn’t it?! Before I put this month in the rearview mirror, for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m joining Marcia to share some Runfessions

After spending a couple of months clearing out and prepping my mom’s condo for sale, I runfess that I’m now on a massive decluttering mission at my house. Seriously, my mom threw nothing out – like I found my elementary school report card among other things…it was just so much! While some times a fun stroll down memory lane, the whole process of clearing her house has me wanting to take a fresh look at what’s filling up the drawers and closets in my house.

I also runfess that I am also surprised, even after decluttering and donating items prior to our remodel, that a year later there’s still stuff to consider parting with. Makes me wonder if decluttering is ever “done.”

What say you – are you pretty good at keeping things to a minimum or do you feel like there’s always something to declutter?

An August Runfession or Two

I runfess that recently I have fallen off the stretching bandwagon and my body has let me know in no uncertain terms that this is not acceptable! I will be getting back to these stretches pronto!

And, speaking of bandwagons, I runfess that I’ve let my core work slide this month. I usually try to at least get some daily planking in, but over the past few weeks… nothing. I’m thinking of doing one of Peloton’s core programs to help motivate me to re-engage.

Runfessions for July

How are we coming to the end of another month already?! It’s the last Friday of the month so of course for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m linking up with Marcia to share some Runfessions.

Runfessions for July

I runfess that the product review offers have been getting weirder and weirder lately – for example, I recently received an email pitching an offer to test out a testosterone supplement for men – say what now?!?

I runfess that my most challenging workouts of late may be walking Ryker! The pup is now 6 months old and 60 lbs and has seriously entered the pulling-on-the-leash phase. While I pride myself on being a solid power walker, I’m clearly not moving fast enough for the little guy LOL
