Week 16’s Run Down

April just keeps rolling along. Mother Nature continues to seem unwilling to commit to Spring.

And, on the workout front, I continue to go with the flow. Here’s a quick peek at my week…

Signs of Spring on Tuesday’s run

Weekly Run Down – Week 16

Monday — 20 min Ride plus 5 min Cool-down, 20 min Full-Body Strength, 10 Core, and stretch. The combination of a ride and full-body strength class has become my go-to to get the week started.

Tuesday — 4-mile run.

Wednesday — 2-mile walk plus 30 mins of yoga.

Thursday — 20 min Low-impact Ride plus 5 min Cool-down, 10 min Upper Body, and 10 min Core. I had an extra early start to my workday so I swapped my planned run for Friday’s workout. My reward post-work was a great sports massage.

Friday — 3.5-mile run. Thanks to swirling, nonstop wind, this run felt so hard!

This look tells you all you need to know about this run!

Saturday — 1.5-mile walk, 30-min Ride, and 10 min Core. I was still feeling a little beat up after Friday’s run so I took a pass on my planned lower body strength class.

Sunday — 5-mile run. I joined Cari and some other bloggers in running the Nationwide Run/Walk for the 9/11 Memorial. The forecast for today was pretty ugly, so I was happy to get out early and finished my run just as the rain was starting. I’m looking forward to just vegging on the couch for the rest of the day.

I’m happy to say that the week ahead should be fairly low-key workwise, which is perfect since I have my first vaccine scheduled for Wednesday morning. I’ve still got 20 miles to go to hit my April goal, so hopefully, vax side effects won’t derail the plans.

How was your week? Does it feel like April is flying by?

  1. April felt like a blink here, no thanks to be overloaded with work. Ugh. Mom Nature has been crazy lately but I think she spoiled us here early in the month with a couple of 80 degree days so the 20s seem extra cruel now. I really hope to get our deck opened up this week!

  2. I love that photo of the the red flowers!

A ride and strength class is a great combo. My go-to combo for the past few weeks has been a run and ride.

Love that you were able to participate in the memorial run today and that so many other bloggers joined as well.

  3. Yes, April is flying by very fast (but that’s alright…the closer we get to Summer the better LOL). We started the day with a blue sky and all kinds of sunshine, and now we have rain ;-( But, we need the rain, so there’s that. I might be vegging on the couch later as well (#twinning) 😉

  4. I can’t believe April is almost over! It was a strange month of weather. I hope the vaccine goes well for you!

  5. Time is really flying by and yes this month just really flew! The wind has been crazy the last few weeks. A low key week ahead sounds good!

  6. We had a chilly week in Minneapolis. April is going out with a gloomy chill! Hopefully May is more spring like.

Great job on the 9/11 run! Sounds like a great event.

  7. Yep, I can’t believe next weekend is May already.
Your Sunday- finishing your run just as the rained started- and then vegging on the couch sounds amazing! I love days like that.

  8. Everyone is very different. Hope you have very few side effects, most of my friends really didn’t feel much at all. I’m one of the lucky ones, I guess.

But good to have it done, right?

Also nice to hear that work is easing up!

    • Yes – no matter the potential side effects it will be good to have it done.

And it is so nice to finally have things at work slowing down a little – let’s hope it lasts!

  9. Hard to believe April is almost over. It is going by so fast. I feel like I am in repeat mode where I run, work, come home, go to sleep. Then repeat. I just want June to be here. 🙂

  10. Darlene S. Cardillo says

Good luck with the vaccine. Most do not have a reaction. Hope you are one.

Glad to hear work is slowing down

It rained early here and then nothing. Of course I planned my weekend as if it was going to rain all day.

  11. Woohoo to getting the vaccine! I hope you do well! it’s just so nice to be able to lessen the worry.

Looks like you got a lot of good workouts in this week! Here’s to that last 20 miles for your goal!

  12. So bummed I missed out on the 9/11 run. I guess I unplugged at the wrong time.

Woohoo on your vaccine appointment! My first dose was pretty painless. My arm only bothered me if I thought about it. I’m bracing myself for the second dose though ….

    Those tulips look so vibrant!

    Here’s to a good week.

  13. So glad you have an appointment. I’ll tell you what I said to Jessie and CoCo (or maybe in the group message since I finally quit copying and pasting peloton workouts between you two): if you don’t have to run the morning after, don’t. But listen to your b ody and go with it. I was going to give mine a full off day, but ended up wanting to walk.

Thanks for joining yesterday. That was fun!

    • Thanks for letting us know about the 9/11 run – I was happy to join in!

I usually run on Thursdays but was thinking of juggling my run days since my shot is Wednesday morning.

  14. April was moving pretty slowly in the beginning, but now it’s flyiing!

Great workouts this week! I was so happy to be part fo the 9/11 Museum run. It meant a lot <3

  15. Now that I think about it, yeah April has flown by!!

it’s nice that you found a good combo of cardio and strength. I’m still trying to find a good balance. glad you got a vax appointment!!

  16. Hooray for your vaccine – tomorrow now. Good luck with it and hope you get your miles in (but it’s fine if you don’t, of course!)

  17. I hope your shot went well today! My daughter had her 2nd shot yesterday and was a bit sore this morning. She wanted to stay home from school… and since she only has a few more weeks left of high school, I gave her a pass 🙂 I can’t even remember the last time she missed school because she was sick (maybe never!).
