5 Things You May Not Know About Me

While I have been at this blogging thing for a while…(believe it or not it will be 11 years next week) there still might be a few things you do not know about me. So, I thought it might be fun just to share a few random facts about me.

Five Things You May Not Know About Me

Rugby — I joined the women’s rugby team my freshman year in college after one of my male floormates made fun of one of the women in our freshman unit who made mentioned she was thinking of going out for the team. Long story short, I came to her defense, there was a dare involved, I went to tryouts with her – she didn’t last, I loved it! I was even Captain of the team my Junior year. Still love the sport and watch it every chance I get!

Broken bones — I’ve never had a broken bone…gotcha, I’m sure you thought with rugby this was a given.

Country music  — My taste in music is pretty broad as evidenced by some of my run playlists, but the one thing I have absolutely no stomach for is country music. Can. not. stand. it.

Planner fanatic — I love quality stationery and planner supplies, and I’m a sucker for a pretty journal. You could say I’m a bit obsessed.

Tequila — I love a good tequila…and I’m not talking shots, but a good sipping tequila. (I’m also a big fan of margaritas and am still trying to perfect my recipe).

OK, your turn – tell me one fun fact about you.

  1. It was fun learning new things about you! I’ve broken two bones- both have been fingers! I used to not like country music at all but now its grown on me a bit. I don’t like all country music though.

  2. Darlene S. Cardillo says

    Such a fun post.

    Tequila? Rugby?

My first broken broken bone was in my 40s but since then twice as a runner.

  3. Rugby! You ARE a badass 😉 I had a no-broken-bone streak going until my stress fracture LOL I’m thankful it was “just” a stress fracture of a tiny foot bone and not a major breakage, like of a leg. Gotta say I LOVE a margarita, but tequilla (on its own) is tough to swallow…we used to call it “te-kill-ya” in college. ha!

    • Ha I’m not sure if it’s badass or crazy LOL 😉 We will definitely have to plan on sharing some margaritas for our next meet-up (post-race of course!)

  4. I never would have guessed the tequila or the rugby! I also love my planner. Which one do you use? I use Erin Condren. Always fun to learn new things about each other. I feel like I spill everything on my blog lol

    • It’s funny I find the rugby thing always throws people 🙂 I think I have tried every planner on the market! I had Erin Condren for a while. I’m currently obsessed with Cloth & Paper!

  5. I, too, have never had a broken bone. But I also didn’t play Rugby!

Fun post, Michelle, and I agree about the journals. 🙂

  6. I can’t say I’d have guessed you were a rugby player or tequila drinker. I am neither!

I’m struggling to think of any interesting fun facts… I’m scared of heights but I went skydiving once!

  7. Oh this was fun! I have a Passion Planner that I love and I use a bunch of Happy. Planner stickers lol! Something about me? I will confess that I was digging the country music when I went to Nashville a couple of years ago! Otherwise I’m not a fan either!

    • Yay for a fellow planner 🙂 I have heard that Nashville is a lot of fun and I confess that I would like to visit despite my feelings about country music LOL

  8. I love this!! No broken bones either for me. My brother in law once teased me what I didn’t know how to drink tequila. He told me to sip it instead of drinking it all at once. He is right.

  9. Wow, I’m impressed with all the “no broken bones” comments!
I agree on the country music 100%.
No tequila for me- beer all the way!

  10. Oh, wow. I played rugby in high school. I went to one club practice in college and knew I was out of my league. 😉

  11. oh wow, I love rugby, that’s really badass that you played AND was even captain! to me rugby is far better than American Football. In fact I can’t even stand to watch American Football (give me soccer or rugby any day).

Hmmm. Let’s see what can I tell you that you may not know about me?

I played the violin in school for almost 10 years – my first two years I couldn’t read music at all and just played by ear. And apparently I was quite good at it as well, especially after I started taking lessons. I have my old violin here and an electric one as well.

That’s my fun fact for you 🙂

    • That’s so cool about the violin – especially being able to play the first could of years without knowing how to read music! I always wished I was musical. I also didn’t know there was such a thing as an electric violin!

  12. I love that you played rugby!! You know my son plays. He misses it–no rugby this year.

Fun fact? I was an avid musician growing up. I played the piano, the oboe, and the bassoon. I hoped my boys would love it as much as I did, but no such luck. They do have excellent taste in music tho. And I do love country music, but not the stuff you hear on the radio!

  13. Congratulations, 11 years, AWESOME! Having the Gracious Honor to be your mom, I am sure there is lots you know about me.❤️❤️

  14. This is so fun! Thanks for sharing. Agree about tequila for sipping, no shots for me 🙂 Rugby! Wow, that is so cool!

  15. Rugby! That is fierce!

I don’t love country music either. We live in a place where it’s a thing and so our music scene is rough.

I don’t know that I have much to add. I’m a published poet – just one poem from a long time ago. But there’s that 🙂

  16. 11 years. Wow. I’ve blogged on and off, but this four+ year stint is the most consistent I’ve ever been. How fun on rugby. And LOL, I’ll try not to drop too many country recommendations in the Pelothread, but you know it’s my crack.

I moved to Japan at 21-you may know that, I don’t kow if it’s ever come up on the blogs. Crazy to think that it’s coming up on 20 years in August, inextricably tied with 9/11 for me and I’m not ready for that twenty year marker either

    • I love that you lived in Japan – I studied the language and culture in college but never got to visit.

If you had asked me when I started I would have never imagined that 11 years later I would still be blogging. It’s the connections I’ve made that keep me going!
