Weekly Wrap – Much to be thankful for

I knew the couple of days leading into Thanksgiving were going to be busy work days, and I wasn’t wrong – Monday & Tuesday were a blur of conference calls and project deadlines. But, things went smoothly and then I had short day Wednesday – perfect for starting Thanksgiving prep and hanging with my kids.

ProseccoThanksgiving was a wonderful day with my family – lots of laughter and food! My brother hosted and I will admit I totally indulged…including discovering a very tasty apple prosecco 🙂

We took advantage of Friday’s gorgeous and unseasonably warm weather to play outside with the kids and take care of the last of the yard and garden work for the season (No Black Friday madness for me, though I did get started online later in the weekend).

RakingSaturday was filled with kid sports – lacrosse and hockey – along with lots of house projects and a lot of football!

The week was also the start of my running comeback — OK there was more walking and shuffling than running, but I’m grateful for all of it!

I’m working with McMillan RunClub and am following an 8-week plan designed to ease me back into running. 1 week down and 7 to go!

WeeklyWrap (1)I’m linking up with Holly at HoHo Runs and Tricia from MissSippiPiddlin for their Weekly Wrap.  Make sure to stop by and say hi and check out the other great bloggers joining in!

So tell me, how was your holiday? Did you Turkey trot or take a rest day?

  1. I’m with you — no Black Friday, but I sure dropped a few $$ the rest of the weekend online.

And yes, I did run my first Turkey Trot.

  2. No Black Friday for me either. Friday was spent decorating and a few of those shuffling miles you are talking about! (There was a little Amazon Priming as well!) I’m going to look at that McMillan plan too! It’s wonderful to indulge and spend time with family at Thanksgiving. Good luck as you ease back into running. I appreciate you linking with us, Michelle!

  3. Glad you had a Happy Thanksgiving! I didn’t do any Black Friday shopping either. No deal is worth getting out in that crowd for me. No Turkey Trot for me, but I did run 4 miles before indulging on Thanksgiving.

  4. Sounds like a nice week! No turkey trot for me, but I did get some good runs in. I opted outside on Black Friday as well! I’m not one for crowds and craziness! Great job on your first week of your new running plan!

  5. What a nice Thanksgiving filled with food, fun and family! The new plan sounds like fun, congrats on getting out there for week #1! I did my turkey trot and just a little shopping, I can only stand so much of the madness!

  7. Yay for being on the road back! Your holiday sounds busy but really nice. I refuse to partake of that early morning black Friday madness. But I did go out late afternoon and it wasn’t bad.

  8. I was out of town visiting in-laws all last week, course even if I wasn’t I would not be in line at the crack of dawn on Friday. The only line I’m gonna be in that early is a race line lol. I wish I could say I did some on-line shopping but it just hasn’t happened yet. Gosh I’ve got to get in the mood! Thanks so much for linking up with us and I’m so glad you had a nice Thanksgiving as well! Have a great week!
