Checking in at the February Runfessional

Happy Friday!

Is it me or does February always feel like the longest month despite being only 28 days?! Well as this long month winds down, it’s time again to link up with Marcia for a little time at the Runfessional.

February Runfessions

It's Friday and I'm joining @teamarcia for the Runfession link-up! #running #runchat #runfessions #fridayfive Click To Tweet

So my gym saga continues! Just as I was starting to research new gym options after receiving the news that my gym was closing, don’t I receive yet another letter from my gym announcing that the deal they thought they had in place to be bought fell through and now they’re staying put. What the what?! I runfess that I am secretly relieved because while I have my issues with this gym, the thought of shopping for a new one was leaving me cold.

And, speaking of the cold (like what I did there?), I runfess that wearing all of the layers is growing old and my mojo is taking a serious hit. I need winter to be done now!

Under the category of “it takes a village”…

I runfess that I’m a little nervous that my massage therapist is days away from closing shop while she’s out on maternity leave. She’s been my saving grace on a number of occasions and I’m really going to miss having her around just as I’m getting ready to start half marathon training.

On the good side, I am loving the new acupuncture practice I’ve recently started going to so I runfess that I’m planning to ramp up my visits over the next couple of months.

And, did you know that today is National Margarita Day?!  Seriously, who decided these things?! Margaritas are one of my faves and I runfess that given that I’ve only got a 4-mile run planned for tomorrow I may have to have one…or two 😉

So tell me, what would you runfess? Margaritas – yay or nay?

I’m also linking up with Meranda and Lacy for Fridays with Fairytales and Fitness.

  1. I hope you share more about your acupuncture experience! I haven’t yet tried it but I am really curious.

And yes, I am tired of the cold. Gearing up for more freezing rain over the weekend. I guess it’s good I get to use my new TM again.

  2. My Chiro has an accupuncturist in his office. I’ve always wondered…
I’ve been milling more than layerig up no thanks to all the ice. Hey I’m sure the salt in those Margs is great for running. You NEED it! 😛

    • I’m a big fan of acupuncture – I’ve been meaning to do a post on it.

I don’t blame you on skipping all the layers – you all have had way too much ice!

  3. Your gym saga has me shaking my head, lol. All that stress of thinking you had to find a new gym and then they are like “nope! False alarm”.

I had no clue that today was National Margarita Day and now I’m thinking that may be a great drink to pair with dinner tonight, lol. I think I have a 5 or 6 mile run tomorrow so I should be safe if I only have one 🙂

  5. Darn. I missed Margarita Day!!

    GL with the gym.

I’ve never had a massage or acupuncture.

But now that I am trying ART, if it works, I’ll want to keep it up.

  6. So glad to hear that your gym is staying put. I would cry if my gym ever closed. I am so used to going there. I am so done with winter too. No wonder National Margarita Day is at the end of Feb. That’s when we need a margarita! cheers!

  7. YES to the margaritas…notice I used a plural form of the word? 😉 Not sure how far ‘m running tomorrow (I’d thought of 7-8), but with the likelihood of it being with Milly, it may end at 5-6. UGH.

  8. I am sooo over the weather as well. In fact, I think I will have a margarita tonight to help me get over the fact that it’s going to be gross again tomorrow for my long run LOL.

  9. I do like classic margaritas on the rocks, but ended up working late yesterday. Scooby gets so impatient with all the bundling up I have to do before we go for a walk. It is annoying! Good news/bad news on the gym. In this case inertia will keep you working out.

  10. Agree on the weather. It is sucking big time!

I love margaritas and had no idea it was National Margarita Day. But, why one day? 🙂 Maybe I’ll get one this weekend.

  11. I’m definitely done with winter. We’re experiencing 60 mph wind gusts as I write this. Right now 40 degrees would sound like a heat wave! My husband made tacos and we had just one margarita each…but of course our margarita glasses are HUGE!!!
