Happy Friday! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!
As we close out the month, Marcia has opened the runfessional. It’s also time for another Fit Five Friday hosted by Darlene, Renee, Jenn, Zenaida, and yours truly, so let’s get started.
A Couple of November Runfessions
Well, it wouldn’t be Black Friday if I didn’t runfess that I’m over the hype! Yes I think I say this every year, but every year I feel like the Black Friday sales hype is getting worse. You can’t claim to be offering “the best deals” when the promotion runs the whole month, can you?
Thanks to being away from running for a while, I runfess that I am out of practice on how to dress for the ever-changing New England weather. Just this week temps have swung from frosty to 60 degrees and my layering game is woefully lacking as I’ve found myself either over- or under-dressed.
OK your turn, what are you run-fessing?

I just comment to Kim that I still overdress when it gets cold.
I’m over Black Friday sales too and why do thy now start earlier?
Really seems pointess doesn’t it?
I have to re-learn how to dress for the cold every winter, and always start out overdressing.
For my trip, I only packed t-shirts and shorts and one morning in Melbourne it was in the low 40s —I was COLD but it was worth it.
I’m glad you’re back to running again!
Thanks Coco – me too 🙂
Although I’ve been doing this for 20 years, it feels like I have to relearn the dressing-for-weather skills. And, it varies SO MUCH depending on the wind, sunshine, actual temps…and did I mention the wind? Also, I’ve learned to never trusteithe of my weather apps. LOL.
Oh I agree – a big no on the weather apps LOL!
I think Black Friday is so different than it used to be. Covid sort of sealed the deal. I don’t see people going out for crazy doorbusters any more. And online shopping means you don’t have to trapise all around town looking for things in stock. I don’t mind it. Unbridled capitalism is a problem, and maybe we can be consuming less.
Looking back on the way Black Friday used to be with people waiting on line all night is just insane! Never appealing to me – then again I’m not a big fan of crowds.
I have been running, and I still can’t dress myself. Fall is fickle
I feel like Black Friday is even more drunk now that we have Prime Day twice or more a year too. It’s ridiculous, but I still shopped o:)
“Black Friday is even more drunk now” – love it! Perfect descriptor 🙂
I agree with you the whole Black Friday thing is a charade at this point. No real value anywhere. I was never a fan anyway. The runner’s amnesia hits me every year!
The weather has really been all over the place this fall – and as Kim said, the wind is certainly not helping me to figure out my layering game.
