Not So Spooky Runfessions

And, here we are at the end of another month already! Marcia has opened the runfessional and for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’ve got a couple of runfessions to share, so let’s get started, shall we?

Not So Spooky Runfessions

It’s Halloween and I runfess that I’m feeling pretty meh about the holiday. Aside from a couple of pumpkins added to the mums on my front porch, I’ve done no decorating, and I runfess that I just got around to buying candy yesterday. I know I’ll enjoy seeing the little ones in their constumes tonight, but once the teens start showing up I’ll be ready to turn the porch light off – Am I turning into a Halloween Scrooge?

A little pumpkin humor 😉

Recently, Peloton announced that they are once again, raising their rates. I saw many take to social to complain, and while I’m not thrilled to be paying more, I runfess that I’m not ready to give up my bike, especially with the winter months coming! Also, my husband has started taking some of the cycling classes, so I figure it’s not a bad deal for the two of us.

Lastly, while I was super excited to take my first run in more than a year and a half last Saturday, I runfess that I was also hella nervous! What if my leg wasn’t ready and there was pain? Thankfully I had nothing to worry about. I runfess that I couldn’t stop smiling during my run-walk intervals. I look forward to starting a Couch-to-5K plan next week!

There…now I can go into November with a clean slate.

Do you have any Runfessions to share? Are you a fan of Halloween – yay or nay?

  1. Congrats on that first run! I’m so happy for you! Good luck as you continue to move forward.

Yep, Halloween scrooge here. I runfess that I don’t understand all the over-the-top lawn accessories. Where do you store all that stuff?

  2. So happy to hear that your run went well.

I’ve done less decorating this year.

I gave up Peleton the last time they raised their price. There are many free Peleton workouts. I need to check them out.

  3. Deborah Brooks says

So glad to see you are restarting running. It is scary to come back but you got this nice and slow. I am out of town for Halloween this year so no candy-maybe that is a good thing!

  4. I’m so happy to hear your first run back went great! That is awesome! I really need to take the bull by the horns and make a decision already as I’m always working around my bum hip. It’s to stop the madness already. Other than a selection of pumpkins and gourds and one skeleton skull, I’m got no Halloween decor either.

  5. I love Halloween but I was so sad that we missed passing out candy. It certainly saved us a whole heck of a lot of money (candy was soooo expensive), but Halloween is such a favorite of mine.

If you still love your bike, keep on riding! I think movement has to come in forms you love!

  6. I’m so glad your run went well. I totally get the apprehension. Just take it easy and build back with confidence!

The Peloton membership is definitely a bargain for two users, Even for one it’s still cheaper than other options I have, like OTF.

    • Thanks Coco – slow and steady is definitely going to be my motto.

I agree that Peloton is still cheaper than a lot of other options – and I admit at this point I’m addicted to the convenience of being able to workout at home.
