Spooky ‘fessions

October has flown by and here we are on the last Friday of the month which means it’s time to join Marcia for some Runfessions. It’s also time for another edition of Fit Five Friday hosted by DarleneRenéeJennZenaida, and me! So let’s go!

Spooky ‘fesions

I finally had an MRI a couple of weeks ago and I runfess that I was disappointed that the results revealed no clear issue. Of course, it’s great that there’s nothing obviously wrong, but at the same time, it makes finding the “solution” a bit more of a guessing game.

I runfess I was so relieved that the sports orthopedist I saw earlier this week told me that I could get back to running. It may be a slow process but at least no one said “no running!”

Though I do runfess that I groaned a little when he said 6-8 weeks of PT….sigh.

If you’ve gone to PT, what’s the longest that you have had to go?

  1. PT is a tough sell, but it’s all worthwhile … not that it’s any more enjoyable, LOL. My last PT endeavor was maybe 8 months (?) of continued work. I was going twice/wk in the beginning, then weekly, then (eventually) bi-weekly. It started with rehabbing my glutes/hammy/hip, but evolved to working on some back issues, as well, in the later months.

  2. Sorry the MRI failed to shed any light on your injury but yes, that’s good news too. Injuries are so frustrating. I’ve been frustrated with the PT I’ve gone too but like I told Deborah, I’ve got a sports Chiropractor that is amazing.

  3. I know we prefer answers and promises we will be better soon! I think I’ve done 6 weeks of PT now and my hamstring still isn’t better. ~sigh~

I need to find a good sports massage place again.

    • I’m sorry your hammy is still an issue. I swear that my massage therapist is the only reason I was able to keep going for as long as I did. I hope you find someone.

  4. Oh yes, I’ve had those MRI’s. And they tell you “Good news! The MRI showed nothing.” That’s not good news, I want to know what’s going on!
I would groan too at the thought of 6-8 weeks of PT. But if it works…
When do you think you’ll try running?

  5. Good news that they did not find any tears on your MRI. Maybe whatever it was has already healed? I sure hope you have better luck w your PT experience than I have been!

  6. I can totally relate to this – I hate when MRIs or other tests are inconclusive. It makes solving the problem so much harder! Hang in there. I’ve gone to PT for months in the past. Not easy!

  7. Oh, gosh. It’s great that there’s nothing wrong wrong, but it would be nice to have some answers.

I’ve been in PT for three months, I think. I would have kept going, too, but… Covid happened.

  8. That is frustrating but at least it’s not serious and you can run knowing nothing is wrong.

Ive gone to PT for like mos after I broke my ankle.
