Runfession #1 – So I returned for another message last week – thank goodness for the gift certificates I got for Christmas! The massage therapist was a little less horrified than last time – I’ve been following her advice to roll using a lacrosse ball.

Runfession #2 — I’ve been slacking on my PT exercises and it was showing in the form of a slightly angry ITB earlier this month. Since I’ve gotten back on track my IT band has quieted down to being just slightly annoyed.

Runfession #3 — The double workout days of running and doing T25 are seriously kicking my tail! I confess over this last week, I’ve skipped the T25 on run days. Please don’t tell Shaun T…

Runfession #4 — I wish I had a race coming up earlier on the calendar. I know the smart thing to do was to ease back into running and build my base, but I must admit some days my motivation to run is a little schizoprentic. I’m feeling the need for a training plan to help hold me accountable.

Runfession #5 — On the other hand, I run fess that I’ll more than make up for the lack of spring racing this fall. I keep stalking race websites and trying to figure out how many I can register for without wearing a groove in my credit card or racing every weekend.

  3. I’m the same way with motivation and races! The training really helps to keep me on track. But I have to admit I’m looking forward to the couple months from April to July where I won’t technically be in training for anything to do some shorter runs, try for a 5k PR and maybe try some new classes at the gym! The mix of training and not training helps keep things fresh 🙂

  5. I need to get a massage in the worst way! I’m so glad my first race isn’t until April. I’ve really enjoyed my training cycle more with o much time off prior. But definitely keeps my motivation up!

  7. I do double workouts on Weds and Thursdays. All I can say is that today I am exhausted. I could crawl under my desk and sleep!

    • Honestly Wendy I do not know how you double workouts on back-to-back days. I finish one double day and I’m ready to crawl into the fetal position and sleep forever!

  8. Double workout days are hard for sure! I am really tired after long runs. Runfession-I am a little nervous about my 10 miler coming up next month. I have not run that far in a long time

  9. Awwwww I telling Shaun!! LOL!!!

    I have been doing a Ashley Horner workout and it has been kickin my tail!!! I missed my alarm this morning got almost 8 hrs of sleep and I am still TIRED!!!

    I do have a race in Spring and still slacking on my runs….I have run 4 times for the month of Feb for less than 20 miles…..Runfession!!!

    I have got to get my self together…my race is in a month!

  10. I wanted a massage and called for an appointment but they didn’t call me back. I was kind of relieved because I was afraid it was really going to hurt ! But I should call back….

  11. I runfess that I’m not excited about my first race which is next weekend.

  12. I tend to be rather conservative with signing up for races — my IT gets inflamed pretty easily! So 2-3 halfs a year, maybe a monthly race but not even every month; not much around here during the winter.

    I rarely do strength training and a run on the same day.

    • I’m usually pretty conservative in my race registrations as well, but I think it’s been so long since I’ve been in a race I’m really feeling the itch to do one!

  14. I don’t think it would be such a bad thing to sign up for a race. It would give you that consistent motivation you want. You can continue to build your base with an eye on that prize. 😉 I would kill for a massage…
