February is a Wrap!

We made it! I swear these past 28 days felt l-o-n-g! As I recently runfessed, I am winter-weary and oh so ready to put this month and all of the snow and ice that came with it in the rearview mirror.

So before I declare February a wrap – I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down. Here’s how the last week of the month played out.

Weekly Run Down Week 8

Monday — 3 miles, 10 min core, and 10 min stretch. Mother Nature was not playing nice so that meant more time on the mill.
Tuesday — 20 min ride plus 5 min cooldown ride, 20 min core, and 10 min stretch. I’m not even sure why but this was one of those days where everything felt hard, as evidenced by my post-workout selfie from the floor!

Wednesday — 4 miles, 10 min core, and a stretch. What a difference a day makes! Mother Nature served up 50 degrees and sunshine, and my run felt effortless!

Thursday — 3 miles, 10 min core, and 10 min stretch. Everything that started to melt the day before froze overnight, so it was back to the mill again.

Friday — 3 miles, 20 min core, 30 min ride. Matty’s core class was just 20 minutes of evil, but the soundtrack of Cody’s BHM Celebration ride was oh so good!

Saturday — 2 miles, 20 min ride plus 5 min cooldown ride, 10 min core, and 10 min stretch.

Sunday — 4 miles, 10 min core, and 10 min stretch. I took advantage of a break between rainstorms to get outside for some miles this morning. I love how peaceful Sunday mornings can be.

This week was heavy on short runs, and light on strength training – not really planned, just went with how I was feeling.

Despite keeping my runs short throughout the month, I manage to hit my goal of 50 miles. And, with today’s workout, the enCore 28 daily core challenge is now complete. I’m still undecided on my goals for March so I’ll share them later.

How was your February?

  1. Way to finish the month strong! It always feels good to get outside even if it is for a short run. I really felt a difference with the daily core so I am going to keep that up. Cheers to a new month!

  2. It was a long month, wasn’t it? Glad to see you kept up with your workouts! That definitely helped me get on top of my funk.

  3. Great job on meeting your 50-mile goal! Sounds like it’s been really damp up your way this week, that’s almost as miserable as snow ((almost)). I think most of us are wishing February a fond farewell 😉

  4. Way to tackle those 20 min core classes. I didn’t dare. Although I must say when I first started with Peloton I couldn’t imagine doing a 10 min core class, so I guess I might make it through 20.

Sunshine and the 50s sounds great! Hope you have more days liek that ahead.

  5. Wow…you ran so many days in a row. Quite impressive.

And yes, a short month that seemed to last forever.

Hoping that our snow will melt and spring will happen sooner this year. A runner can hope.

  6. I declare February to be the longest short month ever, lol. Let’s hope that March doesn’t drag out like this.

Awesome job on hitting 50+ running miles and completing the enCORE28 challenge. I didn’t do the challenge but I’m thinking of doing it in either March or April.

    • Thanks Kim! I’m hoping to increase my miles in March and to stick with the daily core, but I think I want to mix in other instructors. Matty’s enCORE28 was a good one – I think you’d like it!

  7. Way to finish out the month on a strong note and hooray for hitting your mileage goal. In March I need to dial in some nutrition goals.

  8. I am so ready for spring as well! Congrats on hitting your 50 mile February goal!

  9. Buh-bye February! I’m kind of on hold with my goals until I can consistently run outdoors. Sure I’ll still get my miles on the treadmill but there I’m kind of just running to run instead of training to get better.

  10. Wow, you had a great week of running! While our weather was fine, February is always such a blah month- I’m glad to be done with it. I’m feeling optimistic about what March will bring! Hope you have a great week.

  11. Sounds like things are really going well, Michelle!

I’ve definitely taken a few floor selfies in my time, LOL!

I can only imagine how good it felt to run Wednesday — although of course you never know, our bodies are weird.

  12. Isn’t it amazing how much of an impact the weather can have? Congrats on finishing strong.
It’s March 1, and i started with a Matty class. Some things don’t change on March 1. LOL

  13. That floor selfie is too much!

However, sounds like you hit your goals, and it’s ok not to have new ones ready for March. I feel like this is the time of year to go on cruise control a little bit: our January enthusiasm has given way a bit and it’s ok to sort ourselves out some.

  14. It was indeed a long short month, wasn’t it? Looking strong! I love your purple ensemble 🙂

  15. I’m also ready for winter to be over! The melt and refreeze can be so annoying. I think most of our snow is gone now so I really hope we are done with all of that for this season!

  16. good way to close out the month. I’m all with going with your feeling. And you managed your goal too, so well done!

    Bring on spring!!

  17. February did feel really long. You did good this week even if you did short runs. I like 3 mile run too.

  18. Good job getting your 50 mile goal! The weather has been a bit crazy and as soon as it got warmer than 40 it seemed like a heat wave around here! I did an evil core class on Monday and I’m still feeling it on Thurs. oof!
