A quick wrap up

I swear I every time I blink a whole week or more goes by! Somehow we’re already halfway through the month – yikes!

I’m knee-deep in prepping and packing for my oldest to head off to overnight camp so I’m just quickly sharing some highlights from the past week and linking up with Holly and Wendy for the Weekly Wrap.

All by myself
On Tuesday I made a last minute decision to head over to the studio for a midday kickboxing class – let’s just say work was really pushing my buttons and the chance to hit something was very appealing ๐Ÿ˜‰ Well I arrived to discover I was the only one there – yep I got a private class – just me and two instructors. It was an awesome workout with lots of attention on my form.

When you get to class and realize you’re the only one!

Time with the PT
I got in two sessions with the PTย last week – and man oh man was I sore after each appointment. The work is tedious but necessary. Someone, please send me some patience!

The Ice Pack as my BFF
I feel like I spent a good bit of the week with an ice pack attached to my leg. I’m not sure what I did but coming off of last weekend’s run my left knee has been super sore. Seriously, some days I feel like I just need to wrap myself in buddle wrap! Oddly, the knee doesn’t hurt during kickboxing, but running was a whole different story.

Only one run
Yep, there was only one run this week – just a 5K on Saturday. It was a slow run/walk but it was miles nonetheless. On the bright side, I got to wear my fave new visor ๐Ÿ˜‰

This week should be fairly low-keyed as I keep my fingers crossed that I won’t need to power walk Chicago!

How was your week? Have you ever had a solo class?

  1. Iโ€™ve never had a solo class but it would be awesome.

  2. A private kick boxing class, without the private price, is awesome! I love your new visor. It goes so well with your top too. I hope everything comes together for you for Chicago. I look forward to meeting you!

  3. I thought it was so cool that you got a private kickboxing lesson!

Looking forward to seeing you this weekend – itโ€™s been way too long. I think the last time I saw you was RnR Vegas!

  4. Am I the only one not gong to Chicago?

Good for you doing the 5k. Love the visor. It matches my favorite SS pattern.

  5. I think a solo class would be awesome! I pay for my weekly coaching with Sammy Jo and it’s worth it.

I’m so looking forward to meeting you this weekend! No worries–do whatever you can. It’s going to be fun!

    • The solo class was the best! I’m hoping to sneak in more midday classes if they’re going to be that empty.

Can’t wait to meet you! I’m so focused on the fun this weekend will be – one way or another I’ll shuffle my way to the finish line ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. I love that visor!!!! Have you tried using a compression sleeve over your knee? I have oodles of them from last summer…LOL I could “gift” one to you ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Funny as much as I love compression gear it never occurred to me to try a knee sleeve! I’m going to have to get one…unless you pack an extra for Chicago LOL

  7. Nothing better than a private kick boxing class! Cannot wait to meet you Friday

  8. Sorry that your knee is bothering you but I know its good to move. Even if it’s not how you want to…PT IS ANNOYING and repetitive but stick with it. Hope your 100% soon

  9. I think I would be intimidated in a solo class, but once I got over that it would be great. I know you’ll have fun in Chicago no matter what! #jealous

    • Honestly, I was intimidated at first but the instructors are so great it was such a great workout.

Wish you could join us in Chicago – we’ve got to meet up soon!!

  10. I agree with Coco’s comment – I would be terrified of a solo class but at the same time to have all that attention must have been fantastic! That visor is great – I have struggled to find creative and unique visors!

  12. Ah, private classes are the best! I really miss kickboxing–I should get back into that again! *-*

  13. Kickboxing sounds like so much fun! And a private class? Score! Hopefully your knee will behave this weekend. I think I saw you are doing the 10K. You know I am slow as molasses…you can always walk the half with me!

  15. Ugh. I hate that you still not 100%! It’s great that you are holding back a little but I wish there was some end in sight.

We’re going to be sending little man to overnight camp too! Thursday is our day for shopping and getting the packing situated for that. It’s kind of exciting but I’m nervous too!

  19. Hey Michelle,
Remember me? ๐Ÿ™‚ Yeah, it’s been a long time. I was over at Marcia’s blog and was reading her comments, mostly to see if i recognized anyone and there you were. So I just popped over to say hello – so, hello!! Looks like you are still getting your workout and running on – awesome!! I still run, though not as much and double the pace I once did. Trying to twist Marcia into a girls weekend in Philly for the marathon in Nov. If you happen to be there for it, that’d be way awesome to connect. Regardless, good luck with your goals….I have no doubt you’ll nail ’em.
    Run strong!!
    Jill

    • Hey Jill! Thanks for popping over. The Philly race is a fun one – wish I could join you guys, but family schedules are colliding. I’m hoping to squeeze in RnR Philly in September. Happy Running!
