Getting back to running

I’m thrilled to say that I’ve got 3 days of running in this week!

Monday:  Another chiro appointment where I runfessed that I cheated and ran last Saturday. He laughed and wasn’t surprised…yeah we’re going to get along just fine 🙂 After our session, I get the official green light to start running!

Tuesday: 3 easy miles

Wednesday: Strength day — all core and lower body work. And, of course, some planking.

Thursday: The wind gusts reached 45 mph and tree limbs were falling everywhere…hmmm no thanks! Opted for yoga instead.

Friday: Made up for Thursday’s run – another 3 miler

Saturday: 15 degrees plus a brutal wind made these 4 miles feel much longer, but my husband was a good sport and came along to keep me company. It was so cold my phone shut down when I tried to get a post-run pic! Have you ever had that happen?!

I was pretty psyched to have these hand warmers which had come in my February Stride Box. You can reseal them so they’re re-usable for up to 6 hours, which I’ll probably be putting to the test this week since temps aren’t supposed to rise for the next couple of days.

Sunday: Rest day

Ten pain-free miles just makes me smile! The goal this week is simple…to run more!

I’m linking up with Holly and Tricia for the #WeeklyWrap. Please be sure to head on over and check out all of the great ladies sharing weekly training and life happenings!

  1. Yay! So glad to hear this, Michelle! My phone “died” after a run a few weeks ago, but as soon as I plugged it in it had a lot of battery life – it just got too cold I guess.

    • Yep, that’s exactly what happened to mine – once I plugged it in it came right back. I thought since it was in an inside pocket close to my body that it would stay warm enough. Guess that shows just how cold it was!

  2. Glad to hear you got three solid days of running. My hands are always cold while running even when I have gloves on. I need to try those hand warmers.

  6. That is wonderful news! I have Raynaud’s too but it doesn’t bother me until AFTER a run. Or being in the grocery store — that’s the worst! My phone will die (or change languages) if it gets too hot or wet with my sweat (I know–gross) so I try not to run with it. Thanks for linking, Michelle. Hope you have another great week of running.

    • Oh my gosh my hands are the worse in the grocery store – what is that about?!? I chuckled at your phone changing languages. I’d never heard of that one before.

  7. This is GREAT news!! Glad to hear you’re feeling better (and that your chiro is on board LOL)

  8. Yay for being back to running! I haven’t had my phone shut down because of the cold, but I have had it shut down from the heat 🙂

  9. This is so inspiring – I’ve been battling with an adductor strain since January and after reducing my weekly mileage, my physiotherapist now put me on a 2 week running break as well. Very hard, but you’re setting a good example, so I’ll try to be as patient as you and hope that I’ll be able to run pain-free soon again, too! Keep up the good work!

  11. Hi Michelle, I always love when I come across blogs like yours. Love to see when people are devoted to running. I was never brave enough to run when it’s that cold outside, but when I see you do it it ispires me to do the same. Is the weather better now? Angel
