November Coffee Chat

It’s that time again for a little catch-up over coffee with Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date. And, of course, it’s Friday so that means another Fit Five Friday link-up! So grab a mug of your fave hot beverage and let’s chat. (This post contains affiliate links).

November Coffee Chat

Over coffee, I would tell you I kicked off my C25K program this week! It’s fun to have running to look forward to again – I think my biggest challenge will be to keep my enthusiasm in check. Gotta stick to the plan and not try to do too much too soon.

Over coffee, I would tell you after a very full and fun October, I’m happy to see more white space on the calendar this month. I always feel like once we hit November 1st that it’s a mad sprint to the end of the year so I’m going to try hard to slow down a bit – savor the days and the upcoming family time.

Over coffee, I would ask you what you’re reading? I’m wrapping up The Art of Gathering for next week’s book club then I have Culpability and The Guest List waiting on my nightstand. With some quieter days ahead, I’d like to get in more reading so let me know if you have a recommendation.

What would you tell me over coffee?

  1. Good luck with C25K!! It’s a great time of year to be starting it.

  2. Borrowed Life of Frederick Fife is one I loved. All the Freda McFadden books if you like mysteries.

Glad to hear you’re running again…

  3. Welcome back to running! I know it’s been a long time coming and I am sure you are thrilled. Slow and steady is the way to go. I just finished the new Dan Brown book which was really good and currently in the Michael Connelly new book.

  4. I’m so happy that you’ve made your return to running! I can totally understand the enthusiasm, as I’m experiencing that myself (and it’s only been a couple weeks for me). My grumpy hip is really helping to keep things in perspective, LOL.

  5. I’m so happy to see that you’re returning to running! YAY!

I loved The Correspondent and Broken Country. Also Olga Dies Dreaming.

  6. Yay for starting C25K!

I enjoyed Culpability. I’ve been in a reading slump since then.

  7. It’s so great to see you getting back to running! Having a job in retail, I am in the opposite boat. My work schedule is getting crazy and I have to be very deliberate about holding my ground and saying no. Those all sound like interesting reads.
I just finished Home Again by Kristin Hannah, and now I’m starting The Dogist, which was written by the guy in NYC who asks to take pics of people’s dogs.

    • Oh I love the Dogist’s IG account! Let me know what you think of his book.

I can only imagine how crazy things get in retail at this time of year – stick to your boundaries for your own sanity!

  8. I love that you are back with Couch to 5k! It’s a staple for me and I love the intervals they use!

November is a mess for me. I had two long term pet sitting jobs, we are traveling for a band competition, and then Veterans Day. Add in A’s flu and Thanksgiving and it’s like “where did the month go?”

  9. How exciting that you’re starting to run again. I hear you on needing to keep your enthusiasm in check!

I haven’t read any of the books you mentioned. In fact, I’ve hardly been reading this past month as I’ve spent my spare time trying to catch up on recapping our summer hikes in Glacier National Park.
