September Coffee Chat

It’s Friday, right? Please tell me I’m not the only who has a hard time keeping track of what day it is after a long weekend!

It’s time for another edition of Fit Five Friday – and since it’s the first Friday of the month I’m joining Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date. Let’s chat a little…(this post contains affiliate links).

September Coffee Chat

Over coffee, I would tell you that we had a great time in Stowe! The weather was perfect and we made the most of it with lots of hiking and kayaking. After missing out last year because of my hip, I soaked up every minute of it!

Enjoying a quiet moment on the water!

Over coffee, I would tell you how much I’m looking forward to returning to the mountains later this month when my hubs and I head to one of our all-time favorite inns located in the White Mountains. We haven’t been since before Covid so it will be really nice to get back there.

Over coffee, I would tell you how much I enjoyed my first book club meeting. Of the two selections (we read two books with a related theme, one fiction and one non), I absolutely loved The Midnight Library. For our next selections, we’ll be reading A Man Called Ove and The Art of Gathering. Currently, I’m enjoying The Three Lives of Cate Kay.

What would you tell me over coffee? What are you looking forward to this month?

  1. Your vacation sounds great! I’ve only got work trips on my calendar, but one is too Australia and my husband is going to come, so I’m looking forward to that.

I really liked A Man Called Ove.

  2. Deborah Brooks says

Being in the mountains is always relexing! Glad you enjoyed. We have been traveling a ton this summer to all different types of places. It’s fun to have the at flexibility when the kid are not at home anymore

  3. Your trip sounds amazing. Glad your hip is so much better!
I’ve heard of all the books you mention, but haven’t read any of them. Interesting theme for your book club, to read a fiction and nonfiction with a similar subject. I like it!

  4. I’m so glad you were able to enjoy Stowe this year! makes such a difference not being injured!! your trip to the White Mountains will be amazing!!

  5. The Midnight Library and A Man Called Over are two of my all time faves. I also loved most of Frederik Bachman’s other books! I recently loved Atmosphere and Everyone is Lying to You.

I love Stowe and am glad you had such a great trip!

  6. Your vacation sounds so tranquil, as does your upcoming trip to the White Mountains. My week has had my head spinning & my brain so confused! We also had a company outing yesterday, which didn’t help,LOL.

  7. I’ve never been to Stowe but have heard such great things! I’d love to go someday. 😀

Yay for reading! I finally reallyreally got back into it last year + I loved The Midnight Library and A Man Called Ove! I’m planning to eventually read the rest of Frederik Bachman’s books. :]!

    • I promised myself at the start of the year that I was going to make an effort to read more and I’ve really been enjoying it. I’m really looking forward to A Man Called Ove.

  8. That all sounds amazing! Vermont is gorgeous!

I am finally in a book club I love with great energy. I don’t love all the books (we all put in our choices and randomizer picks for us), but it’s good to read things I ordinarily might not.

  9. I’m glad you had a nice time in Stowe and were able to participate in the activities. Looking forward to where you’re staying in the White Mountains. Enjoy!

  10. One of these days we’re going to sync up in Stowe! Glad you were able to enjoy more.

  11. I’m so glad you had a great time in Stowe. Sounds absolutely perfect and hooray for having another trip in the mountains to look forward to. We were trying to plan a trip to Banff for next year, alas everything is already booked. Boo. I enjoyed A Man Called Ove! Happy reading!
