Roaring through March

Things have been off the chain since March came roaring in! Work life has been beyond busy pushing many things, including blogging to the back burner. Thankfully there is light at the end of the tunnel – another week or so to go. In the meantime, I am enjoying having my college boy home for spring break!

And, yes, the workouts are still happening, providing some much-needed sanity. Here’s a quick peek into my week in fitness.

From Sunday’s run

Roaring through March

Monday — 1-mile walk, hip mobility work & PT exercises
Tuesday — 3.5-mile walk, Core, & Upper Body Strength
Wednesday — 3-mile run. In honor of International Women’s Day, I received some great gear from the Brooks Empower Her collection – a collab with Dick’s Sporting Goods. Together they will donate up to $500K in support of girls running programs based on purchases of the new line.

Thursday — Peloton Bike & Core
Friday — 3-mile run & hip mobility work
Saturday — 1-mile walk, Core & Upper Body Strength
Sunday — 5.5-mile run

Based on the forecast for the week ahead it looks like Old Man Winter will once again be crashing the party – I heard the word “Nor’easter”, sigh. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed that I can work around both the weather and my very full schedule to stay off the treadmill. Wish me luck!

How was your week? Are you seeing signs of Spring?

  1. This week was so much colder for us than the last 4 weeks. It’s a weird season for sure. It looks like spring but feels like winter. It was fun to be part of the Brooks campaign I love how much they give back

  2. No signs of spring here–we’re getting more snow today! But the birds were singing on our run this morning. The weather is just messed up!

I bought some of the gear from that Empower Her campaign. I love the bright colors!

    Enjoy time with your boy!

  3. I spotted a robin, this morning, in a snow-covered tree. Too bad I was in a moving car and driving, LOL, or I’d have tried to capture the image. I’ve noticed your disciplined hip mobility work! That’s a great reminder for me to keep up with all my PT work, even with my current pain relief (from the steroid injection). It’s tough to continue the “work” when things are feeling better.

    • It is tough to continue the work and I also think that’s one of my downfalls. I tend to let up the minute I feel good again and I think that’s what bites me in the arse down the road.

  4. Oh, unless the forecast is really wrong, I know there will be at least one mill run this week! The good news is it melts faster in March, right?

Glad to hear the work overload has an end date. 🙂

  5. Enjoy your son time… I hope they’re wrong about the snow.. Driving in it makes me crazy

Hope work goes smoothly this week but at least you have the running to keep you sane.

  6. A Nor’easter? I guess it’s not quite spring yet! Great job this week getting in your workouts and hip mobility work. I hope you have a little free time this week to spend with your son!

  7. Good job on getting your workouts in despite a crazy work schedule. And enjoy your son being home for spring break!

I hope you don’t get the predicted Nor’easter. I’m so ready for spring! We’re in Charleston, SC for spring break this week and the trees and flowers are so much further along than in Virginia. There’s wisteria blooming everywhere!

  8. That is cute running gear! Love that they are giving back too.

We had wind last week, with more heading our way, but not as bad as a Nor’easter. I hope you get spared!

  9. I love that Brooks is donating to such a great cause. Looks like some great gear. Enjoy spring break with your son. Maddie’s doesn’t start until next week and she’s spending it in Jamaica, but she will come home for a few days and I am pumped about that!

  10. I’m glad your workouts are still going strong. That’s critical.

Woke up to a nasty thunderstorm today. It will be cooler, then warmer, then summer. Joy.

  11. Totally understand what you mean about blogging taking the back burner to work – it’s hard to keep up when you’re so busy. Also I’m in front my a screen all day for work so I don’t want to be on my laptop after working hours.

The nor’easter was a whole lotta talk and no delivery. We maybe got 1 inch of wet and heavy snow, lol.
