February Goals

Ah, a new month is laid out before us…and for me, that means time to set a couple of monthly goals.

But first, here’s a quick run down on the past week’s workouts.

Monday:  Stability work on the Bosu
Tuesday:  3.5 miles
Wednesday: Orangetheory (Endurance & Power day)
Thursday: 4 miles and a massage

Friday: Orangetheory – snagged a new PR on my all-out pace (8:34!)
Saturday:  Rest and acupuncture and the start of Marcia’s plank challenge
Sunday:  Strength workout with planking

I continued to keep running on the low-end and the self-care dialed-up. Given that I felt pretty strong during both OTF workouts and had a great run Thursday, I think my strategy is paying off. I wrapped up January with 47.7 miles – just shy of my monthly goal of 50 miles/month. With the extra rest days I took for my quad, I’m just fine with that total. So, what’s on tap for February?

February Goals

  • Hit the 50-mile mark.
  • Weekly Yoga – This was another one of my 2020 Fitness Goals, and as you can see from this week’s workouts, I’ve still got some work to do to be consistent with this one.
  • Daily plank challenge – Marcia’s challenge came at a great time to get me back on the planking bandwagon
  • Hydrate!! – This winter dry air has been doing a number on my skin lately. I will be tracking my daily hydration to keep me mindful.

How was your January? What have you got planned for February?

I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

  1. The winter weather does wreak havoc on the skin! I am impressed by all of your success at OTF! Keep it up and have a fantastic week ahead. Thanks for linking up

  2. Love your goals for February! I have also noticed that the winter air has been particularly harsh on my skin this year. It’s odd because it hasn’t even been that cold this winter!

  3. I’m so poor at hydrating, I really need to set that as a goal for February. And it gets so hot here so I really have no excuse not to drink more water. Well done on a solid month and best of luck for February!

  4. Hydration is tough in the colder months because I’m usually so cold myself. My skin is always dry! I got in the habit of drinking plain water (who am I?) at work, and can usually knock out 50-60 ounces each day while at my desk. It’s been great seeing all of your OTF success!

  5. You will definitely hit that 50 mile goal this month. I love the plank challenge. I may have to join in!

  6. I so need to follow your lead on the yoga. I’ve gotten better than I was but still there’s SO much room for improvement! The first half of Feb I’ll finish up my AIP “reset” and depending on the results I’ll go from there.

  7. Congrats on that PR at Orange Theory! That’s a great idea to prioritize hydration. I’ve been bad about that recently too.

  8. Oh, gosh, drinking is so hard in the winter. I don’t hydrate well when it’s hot, but it’s a mess when it’s cold.

Nothing major for me. Just working on my PT and rehabbing. Good luck with your yoga goal! I think you’ve got this!

  9. Great goals for February!! I don’t know why I struggle so much with my yoga goal as well… I feel like it’s not that hard to even do on my own at home, and yet I don’t 🙁

  10. Sounds like you’re doing well. I don’t have much planned for Feb, aside with getting together with family again mid month, weather permitting.

It’s really nice to be at home though. 🙂

  11. These are great goals! I’ve been trying to focus more on staying hydrated. I try to drink a full glass of water when I wake up before i have coffee. You had a strong week of workouts!

  12. I think I hit 51 miles in January — my highest in ages with a few work at home days that let me tag a mile onto my weekday runs. I think upping the self-care is a great idea.

  13. well done on your PR at OTF!! and seems like Jan was good to you for the most part. You were extremely close to your goal even with issues! You’ll definitely get it in Feb 🙂

  14. The winter weather is no bueno to my scalp and my nose. I have to sleep with a humidifier or my nose gets stuffed up. I am usually good about hydrating but more in the evening because it is easier to get to a bathroom. 🙂
