Winding Down 2019

I slid into full vacation mode this week – embracing lots of family time and holiday fun! My workouts were more relaxed as well – here’s how my week shook out.

Monday — 3 miles. Once I logged off my computer from work I grabbed my running shoes to enjoy a gorgeous 58-degree afternoon.

Tuesday — 1 mile on the mill plus PT exercises. We had a full day of Christmas Eve festivities planned so I was up early for a quick mile to shake out my legs and get back to my PT exercises.

Wednesday — Christmas Day! Does a sprint house cleaning session before guests arrive count as my workout? I think so!

Thursday — Yoga. I had to share my mat with my furry yogini 🙂

Friday — 2-miles plus PT exercises. Temps were in the 50s again!

Saturday — 4.5 miles. The weather was picture perfect and the temps were mild. I will admit it took me forever to get motivated to get out the door, but once I was out I had no regrets!

Did you notice that there was no OTF this week? What?! Yes, I’m still learning that I need to book my classes far in advance to get the timeslots I want. It was clear that this week a lot of people must have had time off because all the time slots I wanted were full! Needless to say, I’ve booked my next few weeks of classes so I don’t miss out again!

I’m linking up with Deborah and Kim for the Weekly Run Down.

How was your week? Any plans for New Year’s Eve?

  1. Yeah the OTF classes were totally packed this week since so many people were off work. I normally book my classes a month out to make sure I can get the times I need. But if the class has a waitlist, you should still join. I’ve joined the waitlist for a few classes and have always gotten into the class (people tend to drop the day before).

  2. What a shame you missed your classes! They’ve done the usual annoying thing and combined our 2 yoga classes into one all-abilities one, plus the Wednesday class obviously hasn’t run this last week and won’t next. I’ll have to roll out the mat and see how many kitties jump on! No NYE plans here but hope to do a NYD parkrun!

  3. Hasn’t the warm weather been such a nice treat? I know we’re still due for a real winter, but I do love this!

I’m not surprised it’s so crowded at OTF–it’s probably going to get worse with all the NY resolution peeps. It’s been crowded at CrossFit, too. I’m looking forward to getting back to normal!

  4. It seems like lots of you were gifted warm temps to enjoy this holiday week!

  5. I also suffer from that affliction that keeps me from getting out the door in a timely fashion. I really need to do better in the new year. Your yoga mat warmer is adorable!

  6. OTF is still getting more and more popular it seems! Sounds like a lovely week with family and festivities. Happy Holidays!

  7. The weather Saturday was amazing! With family here I got my workout done early so I didn’t really enjoy it, but it was nice to see the sunshine! Every OTF studio is different, but the waitlists usually move pretty quickly. My class on the 26th was 1/2 empty, but I did go at 6 am. 😛

Glad you had a great week!

  8. The weather has been freakishly warm everywhere it appears. I don’t think any of us are complaining. Well, I am about to whine about it because all those warm temps have vacated Iowa. Still, it was awesome while it lasted 🙂 Happy 2020, Dear Friend!!

  9. We had nice mild weather this week and I didn’t hate getting to run outside. It’s nice to have the change up. Hope you were able to get your OTF classes for this week!

  10. The Yoga class I went to yesterday was packed! I signed up last minute, as I usually do, there’s rarely many people there so I was really surprised.

We were unseasonably warm, but nowhere near that warm and not so great weather. Oh well. At least there wasn’t a blizzard. 🙂

  11. Not as warm here but the snow is melting so I’m not complaining.

I went to our free gym yesterday and it was empty but as soon as I left, people started coming. I guess they are late risers.

  12. Sounds like a nice week overall! Too bad about OTF but that was a smart idea to book classes for hte next couple weeks.

  13. Oh, no! I’m so so sorry you missed your OTF! That stinks!

We will have a lowkey NYE celebrating with family and neighbors. Mr PugRunner’s birthday is on the first, and I would love for him to be able to enjoy his day, after all he’s dedicated to me these last few weeks.

  14. still a good week even without OTF! amazing that the weather was so mild too!

Hope you have a lovely NYE and here’s to 2020!!

  15. We also had warm weather last week. Not so much this week since it will now be cold. I am planning to to go the gym tomorrow because I have no desire to deal with the weather and the ice.

  16. Yes, a sprint house cleaning definitely counts as a workout in my books! I was at my dad’s for new year’s eve and went back today to do the dishes. Took hours and I’m counting that as a workout, LOL!
