May Coffee Talk

I’m linking up with Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date, so grab a mug and let’s chat!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that after two straight months of starting our little coffee chats complaining about the winter that would not leave, Mother N has done an abrupt 180. We’re now suddenly in the throws of summer with temps hitting 91 degrees! What the heck?! I’m chalking it up to a hot flash and hoping we haven’t just skipped spring altogether this year.

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my Keurig stopped working earlier this week, and I will admit to having a mini-meltdown. Yeah…”no morning coffee” is just not a phrase I’m comfortable with so I’ve been visiting the local Dunkin Donuts daily and will be buying a new coffee maker this weekend!

If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I’m bracing myself for what we affectionally refer to in my house as “May Madness” – highlights will include dashing from field to field shuttling the boys to their lax games, along with juggling all the year-end school projects, papers, and events.

And, speaking of school, if we were having coffee, I’d tell you that the reality that my boys will be done with school by the first week of June has smacked me squarely in the face. I’m behind in my summer planning and there are many open weeks with nothing planned. While I don’t need to have every moment for them scheduled, too much idle time can get ugly!

So, now, what would you tell me over coffee?

  1. Lol that “no spring for you” meme is so accurate! I can’t believe the temperature made it to over 90 degrees for us too! I wasn’t ready..plus the pollen has been awful!

Hope your May isnt too stressful!

  2. oh no a broken Keurig would be a disaster around here! People know not to talk to me until I’ve had mine. We just finished our reg season HS lax game last night. Going into division play offs this week. My baby graduates in a few weeks. Enjoy those Sat games it all goes by so fast

    • Too funny – my boys and hubby steer clear until I get my first cup too 😉 I know what you mean about time flying by – I’m doing my best to soak it all in!

  3. I remember so clearly the days of running my boys to all their sports events and practices. Enjoy it! If you are like me, you will miss it when it is over. I didn’t have to plan anything for them in the summers, though. I was a teacher, so we had approximately the same schedules. 🙂

  4. No Spring for Iowa, either. And, I’m quite alright with that since Winter totally overstay its welcome (not that it ever really was welcome). May is gonna be nutzo for me, too, as I get the hose (and my mind) ready for our “baby’s” graduation…#denial

  5. We’re going from spring to summer to winter every day it seems! This is crazy!

May is really a busy month, isn’t it? We’ve got a high school graduation and awards and prom and…sigh….

  6. LOL at Mother Nature having a hot flash! That’s what happened in DC, too. Three 90+ days in a row.

I’m curious about how your miracle mornings are going. I hope they are going well.

  7. I couldn’t live without my Keurig either.
I can’t believe the end of the school year is right around the corner and my youngest will be graduating! Yikes! Where does the time go?

  9. Nooo on the broken Keurig! Are you getting another one or something else? I do remember the May madness at school. Hope it’s not too crazy.
