Labor Day Weekend Coffee

Happy Friday!

And, not only is it Friday but it is the start of a long weekend…and it’s extra long for me because my office is closed today for our last “Summer Friday” of the season! I’m ready to kick back and relax so for this week’s Fit Five Friday, I’m joining Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date. Grab your favorite beverage and let’s chat.

Over coffee, I would tell you that the college move-in day was a big success! I am so impressed with how well the college organized everything. We had him unpacked and set up in under 2 hours with plenty of time to hit the bookstore before enjoying the family barbeque and music on the main green.

Over coffee, I would tell you he gave me a quick call after his first day of classes and I could literally hear him smiling through the phone 🙂

Over coffee, I would tell you that I returned to acupuncture this week and I’ve never been so happy to be a human pin cushion again. As I shared just a couple of weeks ago, there are many benefits to acupuncture and I’m hopeful that I can find some relief to this on-again, off-again TFL pain.

Over coffee, I would tell you that we just booked our anniversary getaway! We’re Sonoma-bound for all the wine tasting, fabulous meals, and spa treatments we can handle. We don’t leave until November but it’s fun to have this to look forward to. Can. not. wait!

What would you tell me over coffee? Any plans for the long weekend?

  1. Wow, sounds like an amazing anniversary trip! We honeymooned in Napa and Sonoma. We keep saying we want to go back, but we have yet to do that. Enjoy!

So glad to hear that your son is happy at school!

  2. So glad to hear your son is settling in well!

You anniversary getaway sounds amazing! Of course, I’d want to fit in a bike ride or two out there. 🙂

    Enjoy your logn weekend.

  3. Yay! I’m glad your son is all moved in and it sounds like he’s happy. That must be a relief.
I”ll be interested to hear how the acupuncture goes! I’ve been thinking about acupuncture for my foot (since nothing else seems to work) but am hesitating to spend the money right now. Yet another thing I wish was covered by insurance.
Your upcoming Sonoma trip sounds AMAZING. Yes, I would be daydreaming about that every day from now until November. You’ll have to take lots of pictures and give us a recap!

  4. So glad the move in went well for you all and that your son is so happy there. I do remember the move in going much faster for my son vs my daughter. Less stuff!
Keep us posted on your acupuncture sessions. Sonoma is fantastic in the fall you all will have a blast

  5. Glad your son is doing well! That’s a relief – right?

What # anniversary is it for you? We have our 20th in November and still need to make a plan!

    • Yes definitely a relief!

This is #30 for us – our anniversary is actually in October but work will be nuts for both of us so we opted for November. Can’t wait to see where you decide to go!

  6. I love wine… that sounds perfect to me.

So glad to hear your son is doing well.

And that acupuncture helps you. I has worked for many of my freinds.

    • We’re big wine lovers and foodies so this feels like a perfect fit!

That’s great that acupuncture has worked for your friends! It has worked for me in the past so hoping it comes through again.

  7. Your Sonoma trip sounds awesome! I’m glad to hear the acupuncture is working well. I’ve never tried it myself, but know so many who have benefited from it. Glad to hear the college son is doing well 🙂

  8. I love the sound of that anniversary getaway! It’s been way too long since we’ve gone away as a couple. Glad the acupuncture is having such a great effect on you so far. My sister swears by it as well. Hooray for a successful college move-in and even better that your son is happy!

    • That’s great that your sister uses acupuncture and likes it. It’s always been a big help to me in the past.

I hear you about the long time between getaways. Honestly, I think it’s been at least 5 years since we have gone away without the kids.

  9. Sonoma is such a nice town — and I don’t even drink! Have fun!

That’s great that your son is so happy at his school! Transitions can definitely be rough.

  10. Oh, how exciting about your Sonoma trip! I would love to go back.We went as part of our honeymoon but it rained the whole time and totally ruined the whole vineyard exploration thing.

  11. Sonoma sounds like the Cape winelands in South Africa – wine tasting, beautiful countryside, gorgeous meals and spa treatments too! I can see why you’re excited about it – and definitely something to look forward to! So happy to hear your son’s college move was a success – its the start of a brand new chapter for him and you as parents!

  12. Happy anniversary! Don’t mind me a month late.
Glad move in and classes went well
