Coffee with a side of MAYhem!

I took one look at the calendar and announced “Welcome to MAYhem!” May has often been a busy month around here but I feel like this time around could set a new record!

I’m happy to take a moment to pause to catch up with  Coco and Deborah and you for the Ultimate Coffee Date! It’s also time for another edition of Fit Five Friday so let’s settle in and catch up a little.

Coffee with a side of MAYhem

Over coffee, I’d tell you that we kicked off the month with a day trip to participate in the Admitted Students Day of what may be my son’s new college home. It made for a long day, but my son really loved everything he saw and heard so hopefully, he’s closer to making a final decision. (My husband and I really liked it too!)

Over coffee, I’d tell you that over the course of the next two weeks I have 3 major work events…each of which would be a serious undertaking in its own right, much less all stacked together. Need I say more?!

Over coffee, I would tell you that a couple of weeks ago I signed up to do another 14-day sugar detox. I got so much out of the first one I did last fall and of late, I’ve been feeling the need for a little food/eating reset. Did I mention the start date is Monday?

And, speaking of starting things next week, remember the certificate program I mentioned over coffee last month? Care to guess when those classes are starting? All I could do was laugh when I realized what the start date was.

And to round out the month, over coffee, I would tell you that I have my first race on Memorial Day Weekend!

Yes, it’s going to be a crazy month, but it’s also filled with some good stuff. Just gotta take it one day at a time…

How about you? What have you got planned for the month?

  1. Sounds like busy times ahead for you!! I think a lot of us are feeling the strain. I wonder if it’s a post pandemic thing? Everyone is trying to get it all in? Hang in there!

  2. Every time I think I’m busy (and I am) all I have to do is read your blog, Michelle. I hope that the good things outweigh the bad in May & good luck in your race!

  3. I do think May is the craziest month of all! I am barely treading water myself. All the best with that sugar detox. It’s great to hear you got so much out of the first one. College stuff has begun arriving for my 16 yr old. Pretty soon we’ll start that process all over again!

  4. You do have a lot going on! I have a lot of work I want to get under control before June. We’ll see how that goes ….

  5. Ha, well it does sound like a busy month! But a lot of good things in there. Good luck with the sugar detox- it’s good to get a reset every now and then. I think I need a pretzel detox.

  6. Yowza! You may need a lot of coffee to stay wired and at the ready 😉 I have a busy weekend (the Climb tomorrow and a 10K on Sunday), and then next weekend is a day-long team relay event. Thankfully, I no longer have prom or dance recitals (or tennis or golf thrown into the mix), or even a graduation this year. But still. I hope all goes well with all the mayhem in your world.

  7. This time of the year is always so busy! Sounds like you have a lot of balls in the air. I know you enjoyed your sugar detox last year so hopefully, it goes well for you. Exciting times for your son

  8. Good news that your son found a new college. Hope he likes it better.

Work has a way of getting in the way.

I have a 10 mile race on May 29! Hope we both have good weather.

Sugar de-tox sounds awful but good luck . Hope it works for you.

  9. What a jam-packed month Michelle – it does sound like a bit of MAYhem indeed but nothing you can’t handle!

This month looks fairly quiet at work as we’ve come to the end of a few big contracts – over coffee, I’d tell you that although I’m happy for things slowing down, I’m a bit nervous of the future and whether business will pick up again.

  10. My April was super busy. I have a few events in May, too. Not as much effort required on my part, though! Good luck!

I could use a sugar detox, but I’m going to Sweets & Snacks show this month and can’t resist my old faves 😉

  11. Definitely sounds like MAYhem! Wishing you all the best with those 3 work events – never a good thing when work collides like that, but you’ll be so relieved when it’s all over!

  12. I want to do a sugar detox but I know it is hard. Sugar is in pretty much in everything we eat! That is exciting about your race. That one is a fun race!

  13. MAY hem! I love it!

You are definitely busy this month. We have Mother’s Day, my birthday, a ton of end of year events for A, and then 8th grade graduation. I want to run a race on Memorial Day, too!

Good luck getting it all in!

  14. You sure have a lot going on, I’m tired just reading this.
I’ve thought about doing a sugar detox but I don’t really eat a lot of sugary things. 😉

  15. MAYhem indeed.
Good luck balancing all, and good luck to your son with his decision.
Can you have coffee on your sugar detox?
