February Rewind

Good things for the month:
  • 81 miles – my second highest monthly total ever since I’ve started running!
  • Set a 10 mile PR!
  • One of the mildest February’s on record helped continue my outdoor running streak.
  • Left leg continues to feel good (Dr. Needles will be proud)!

Things I could do without:
  • Missed my goal mileage – while I missed a few runs due to the kids’ school vacation week, the bigger factor here is that I may not be a 5-day a week runner. I missed some runs for no other reason than my body needed the rest. I made sure to hit all my quality runs (long runs, tempo, speedwork) but punted on some of the recovery/easy runs.
  • Had no time to dedicate to making the switch to WordPress. Blogger continues to be twitchier and twitchier (yes that’s a technical term!), so I still want to make the change.

On the decks for March:

  • While I did incorporate more yoga in February I still haven’t made it to a Bikram class. Determined to get one in this month.
  • 100 miles.
  • More consistent core & strength work.
  • Rock ‘n’ Roll USA Half!

  1. Yay for your February!!
    Go get that 100 woman!!
    Bring on march!!

  2. Great job! You are a stud for those 81 and I am sure you will hit 100 with ease. Knock em Dead @ Rock-n-Roll

  3. Hey there’s no shame at all in being a <5x/wk runner (said the queen of 3x/wk) 😀 . You are wise to listen to your body. Looks like a darn solid Feb to me!

  4. Those are some big accomplishments for one month! Congrats and good luck in March!

  5. Nice job!

  6. Awesome. March will be better! Keep it up!

  7. 81 miles is great…and I agree that running 5 days a week, week in and week out, is just not for everyone (it certainly isn’t for me). There are just simply times when the body needs either a break from running for a day, or just a complete day off. I have a lot of admiration for those who can streak for long periods of time, or crank out 7 to 10 miles every workout, but that is hard to get used to.

    Great February !

  8. good month, Michelle….and you did a GREAT job at the OFTM! The smartest thing any of us can do is listen to our bodies and NOT run when it doesn’t feel right….seems like you’re doing it the right way, so keep up the good work!

  9. We have to figure out how/when to meet up in DC! I can’t run 5X. I actually found that 3x works for me, although I’ve snuck in 4x once in a while lately. Mostly, I am not good at doing an “easy” run. So 4 or 5 hard runs is too hard on me!

  10. Woohoo, great job this month! Hope March is just as wonderful for you!

  11. You ran further than me…I did about 65. You should be proud. Is it possible to do a digitial hi-five? Cuz, you deserve one!

  12. WordPress has a much easier Dashboard in my opinion, and for the most part, blogs that use WordPress seem to load faster and have fewer problems.

  13. GREAT February for you!! Congrats!!

I like blogger especially since it is very user friendly, the only thing that bothers me is that I can not reply to any comments on my post. This is the reason I start thinking about switching as well. Please keep us posted how your experience is.

  14. I am excited to see your recap for RNR USA!!! That looks like such a great race!
