2022 Run Down – Week 1

The first week of 2022 is in the books and to say it was a l-o-n-g week would be an understatement!

Getting back into the work routine after a week off is never easy; but throw in a booster “hangover”, a foot of snow and icy conditions, and then my mom having a medical emergency and I am looking for a white flag to wave. I did what I could to keep moving, here’s a very quick look at how the workouts played out.

2022 Weekly Run Down – Week 1

Monday — Core & Yoga. The booster hangover hit hard, leaving me feeling like I was moving through mud.
Tuesday — 1-mile walk, Core & Yoga. Still feeling less than stellar, but movement is medicine.
Wednesday — 3-mile run & Core. Dreary and rainy out but so happy to be feeling better!

Thursday — Peloton bike, Upper Body Strength, Core & Stretch.
Friday — Full Body Strength & Stretch.
Saturday — 4-mile run & Core. Icy conditions made this a mill run.
Sunday — Thanks to bitter temps and slick roads, the plan for today is Peloton bike & Core.

All things considered, not a terrible week. A polar blast is settling in here so I’m anticipating there could be a lot of indoor workouts for the upcoming week, but I’m going to do what I can to #optoutside as long as I can avoid ice.

  1. Oh no! I hope your mom is okay- that sounds worrisome. I know the booster hangover was no fun, but it’s good you did that. You’ll be happy later on!
It sounds like you had a good week of workouts in spite of it all- I hope next week is a little easier!

  2. The arctic blast this week was crazy considering we had 60 degree temps the week prior. Mix that in with the snow and ice and yikes! Continuing to send your mom positive thoughts and prayers and hope she starts to feel better soon.

  3. Yeah, it’s been kind of a bumpy start to 2022, hasn’t it? I’m hoping that Omicron burns itself out as quickly as it started, that the ice thaws, and that your mom is ok. Hang in there, Michelle. Thinking of you.

  4. You sure did have a bumpy start to the year. We are all here for you anytime you need to vent. Hoping your mom is okay keep us posted

  5. That is an awesome week of fitness, Michelle, considering the week you had. A foot of snow? Wow! We barely had any, but we do have the ice today. Opting outside will probably not happen for me for the next few days.

    Continued prayers for your family.

  6. Continued healing thoughts and prayers for your mom, Michelle. We haven’t gotten all that much snow but I’m so freaking over the wind, ice and sub-z temps already.

  7. Thinking of you and your mother, as well our entire family. Sorry for the less-than-ideal start to your new year. You did a great job, though, of staying in motion. Movement IS magic <3

  8. Hope your mom is ok and it isn’t serious.

    Yes it’s cold here too.

Icy today but I do hope to layer up and get outdoors.

Things will get better for you, right?

  9. I hope your Mom is OK — and home soon.

Now you know why I wasn’t sure if I was sick or had a booster hangover. I’m glad you are feeling better.

    Stay warm!

  10. This weather is totally crazy. Glad you have indoor options. And I forgot to say it on coffee – congrats on Brooks! Hugs to you and your mom

  11. I’m sorry to hear about the bumpy start and I hope your mom is okay. The ice storm didn’t help, gees. Hoping next week is a bit more normal for you Michelle!

  12. The booster hangover was terrible. I was absolutely not expecting it, and I was so annoyed by it (when I had the energy to BE annoyed by it).

  13. I was concerned about the booster hangover, so I postponed getting my shot before the holidays. Then I got covid! I do wonder if I would have avoided it by getting the booster. Hopefully you are back at it 100% by now!
